For successful home cultivation of cannabis, it is of utmost importance to understand the cannabis plant, both in terms of its effects and the different growth conditions and lifespan of the plant.
All factors are primarily related to the three parent strains of the cannabis plant, which comprise most strains known as hybrids. Therefore, it's important to get to know the three parent strains individually, which are as follows:

Cannabis plants "Sativa"
The Sativa plant originates from equatorial countries such as Thailand, Mexico, Jamaica, and Colombia. This means that for successful cultivation, Sativa thrives in high temperatures and high humidity, and will produce the best results under such conditions.
While these countries tend to experience regular small rain showers during the cannabis growth phase, there is above-average rainfall in September and October.
For home cultivation, this means that the plants need small amounts of water regularly during the growth phase, but a higher level of humidity, which can be achieved by regularly spraying the plant or using a humidifier in the grow tent or greenhouse.
During the flowering phase, the sativa needs more water than average, so regular but measured watering of 2-3 times a day is recommended to keep the soil moist.
The Sativa's visual characteristic is primarily the tall, cylindrical growth habit of the plant, resulting in large spacing between the nodes. It also has very long and narrow fan leaves. Compared to Indica, Sativa resembles an elongated cannabis plant with strikingly thin fan leaves reminiscent of thin fingers. With the right decorations, Sativa can easily compete visually with regular Christmas trees.
The effects of sativa produce a high feeling expressed in energy and euphoria. This suppresses negative emotions and feelings of anxiety. Sativa also works against chronic pain, migraines, depression, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.

Cannabis plants "Indica"
The Indica plant originates from subtropical regions such as India, Nepal, Pakistan, etc.! This mother genetic also requires extremely high humidity (around 60°C) and temperatures above 30°C to thrive. However, rainfall during the plant's growth and flowering phases is much lower than that of the Sativa.
From this, it can be deduced that for home cultivation it is sufficient to always moisten the soil slightly, but to allow the plant a high level of humidity, e.g. by spraying the plant several times a day and/or using a humidifier in the grow tent or greenhouse, and ideally to do this throughout the entire lifespan of the plant.
The Indica's visual characteristic is primarily the plant's bushy growth habit. It has very short internodal spacing, yet very broad fan leaves. Compared to Sativa, Indica appears more robust and compact.
The effects of Indica can lift mood, increase creativity, and enhance mental activity. However, unlike Sativa, it doesn't produce an energetic or euphoric effect, but rather a calming and relaxing effect, which helps reduce stress levels, promote sleep, and reduce pain.

Cannabis plants "Ruderalis"
Ruderalis is a very special cannabis species, as it is native to regions such as Central Asia, which also include countries like southern Russia, Kazakhstan (between the Altai and Caspian Sea), and Azerbaijan. What's special about these regions is that there are hardly any dark periods, allowing the plant to receive almost constant sunlight.
For example, the "Ruderalis" has undergone such genetic modifications in its reproductive needs that it is already in the flowering phase from the very beginning of the growth phase, resulting in a lifespan of only approximately 7-8 weeks. This also means that pure Ruderalis varieties don't grow particularly large, but the flowers can be harvested after 7-8 weeks.
The visual characteristics of the Ruderalis are primarily due to its low growth height, which it can only achieve in its short lifespan. Despite its strikingly small leaves, the plant appears more compact, as it has more flowers than stems and leaves. This gives the Ruderalis a bushy and compact appearance.
Ruderalis has a low psychoactive effect, due to its low THC and high CBD content. It is primarily used to treat pain, abdominal pain, nausea, menstrual cramps, and loss of appetite.
However, this plant has a very high benefit for THC cannabis hybrids, as this genetics, which has only been minimally crossed in most auto-hybrids, ensures that even Indica and Sativa plants begin to flower after a certain growth phase (approx. 2-4 weeks), regardless of the light period.
This is, of course, a lot of "input," and it may seem like a dazzling sight to some. But don't worry, we'll answer the last few questions now, where we'll discuss the different types of seeds:

Regular - Feminized Cannabis Seeds :
Both of these seeds depend on the hours of light for growth and flowering. During the growing season, these plants require 18 hours of light per day, while they only begin flowering when the daily light duration is approximately 12 hours.
Regular seeds can produce both male and female plants. However, it should be noted that male plants can only serve for seed production, as they produce few to no flowers. Furthermore, male plants have the ability to hermaphrodite female plants by spraying their pollen, which then results in smaller flowers and seed production in the female plants as well.
Cannabis enthusiasts who want to grow their own flowers avoid regular seeds as they have no benefit for high flower yield.

Autoflower cannabis seeds (Automatics):
The automatics are all hybrids, as a small amount of "Ruderalis" was crossed into them to achieve fast yields, allowing you to harvest your own buds in just 8-12 weeks. They don't depend on a few hours of light to flower and thrive with 18 hours of light per day throughout the entire grow phase.
It's important to note when growing your own: Automatics have a very short lifespan, so it's recommended to avoid any stress on the plant, such as excessive repotting, excessive lollipops, or excessive topping. Any stress the plant endures will take hours or even days to recover.
For automatics, we recommend germinating the seeds using the moist Zewa method and planting them directly into the final pot 3-4 days after the seeds have germinated. Lollipopping should only be done once, ideally when the plant has 5 nodes. Topping is best attempted only by advanced growers, as it must be done very precisely, just before the first flower filaments appear.

Hybrid cannabis seeds:
Hybrids are the crossing of both parent strains, "Sativa" and "Indica," to combine the positive aspects of both plants and create a better, more balanced feel. Automatics are also hybrids, except that these genetics, in addition to the "Sativa" and "Indica," have been crossed with a small amount of "Ruderlis" to ensure that they enter the flowering phase after a short lifespan, regardless of the light hours.
Cali-Genetics cannabis seeds:
As the name "Cali" suggests, these hybrids originate from California. The distinctive features of this truly unique cannabis evolution, which Californian cannabis breeders have crossed, include very dense and compact buds, as well as much larger buds than those of conventional species or varieties, and, above all, a very intense, fruity aroma that is unique in this species worldwide.
Cali genetics impress with a very balanced effect of the Sativa/Indica balance, taste excellent, are pleasant to smoke, so that there is no scratchiness or similar, and are perceived as "mild" yet "potent".

DANGER!
When it comes to the size of the buds, we should always keep in mind that no matter how well we fine-tune our cultivation, we unfortunately cannot achieve the same climatic conditions as in California, which is why our yields are not as extremely high as those of Californian weed growers.
However, the effect and aroma are absolutely convincing for cannabis connoisseurs, even when grown in a small grow cabinet at home, and the yield is usually in the higher range.
The Cali-Gentics are all hybrids, regardless of whether they are autos or feminized cannabis seeds .
